Bars -> Bar Stacks
« on: November 24, 2007, 05:28:00 pm »

Represent metal bars by stacks of 10 or 20 bars (dividing weight and cost appropriately). That would allow things like:

* Ores that produce less of a given metal;
* Eliminating the ugly hack for melting equipment where part of it is kept in the smelter;
* Better proportions for alloying;
* Reducing or eliminating the metal-losing-weight-upon-being-forged thing.

Do want, but could you do this easily without making stockpiles overflow with Copper bars[2] and other remains from smithing?

Only after restacking goes in.

Agreed, but we really need restacking, first. Preferably automatic restacking, as having to go through my stocks page and manually restack hundreds of bolts and bars does not sound like fun.

Yeah, I was going to do this after restacking.  My main motivation was being able to throw a single gold bar at somebody as an adventurer though, and all the other things that go with having single gold bars from the movies and stuff.
