Penalty for destroying a support

23 days for potentially causing a cave-in seems a little light, honestly.  Especially when it's the same as what you get for trashing a bed or a table.

Sounds good.  Seems to me that would count as Reckless Endangerment, which is a lot worse than simple Vandalism.

Wrecking bridges should be worse, too. It really should make murdering pets have a less steep penalty than murdering dwarves also.

Something that endangers the Fortress to that extent, should be a very serious matter to Dwarf society. I'm sure they pride themselves on their tunneling, and to have someone destroy a support and potentially kill other dwarves and destroy part of what they have created, UNTHINKABLE!
