LCS is Liberal Crime Squad, another Bay12 game that is now maintained by Jonathan Fox. You can find it in the curses subforum, it's a great game! Oubliette I believe is the game that inspired it.

Have you tried DOSbox?

I'm not familiar with the title, but since it's implied to be a DOS title, I feel obligated to mention VDM Sound.  Another DOS emulator, like DOSbox, but much lighter weight, because it only emulates sound hardware and lets Windows handle the rest.  Use it if DOSbox gives you trouble or is too slow or something of that nature.

Oubliette is too old to need sound help.  If it has any sound at all, which I don't remember it having, it would have been PC speaker sound.

Old game is old.

DOSbox is the answer.

Your assumptions are inaccurate...or at least misleading.  DOSbox and VDM Sound both are quite capable of sound support.  The difference is that DOSbox emulates an entire DOS machine, that is, all of the hardware...whereas VDM Sound emulates only the sound hardware...it leaves everything else to Windows software.  This makes it far lighter weight and faster.  It's good for machines that don't handle DOSbox well (believe it or not, that does happen...emulators are FAR more resource intensive than whatever it is that they're emulating).  DOSbox is an excellent system, but it isn't the end-all.  Just keep alternatives in mind if DOSbox decides to be argumentative.

Oubliette is a text game from 1983, dosbox performance won't be an issue. The trick will rather be in keeping it slow enough. The better alternative after dosbox would in this case be to find the C64 version of Oubliette and run it in a C64 emulator.
