I kinda like the ideas, the Justice mechanic in the game is one of my favorites.

Although, I think every decision should be kept in mind that a lawyer will be there if you like it or not.

Unless you decide "refuse lawyer and TESTIFY!" then you might get a mistrial as a result, which would be another month or two in jail and then the have the same group of options, minus the "refuse lawyer" part.

I like most of the rest. Keep in mind, even in Purple Conservative, the justice system still works the same way it should now.

Work was in fact very busy last week, but I've started on it.

One problem is that there's not, currently, any concept of how strongly each Liberal is implicated in criminal activity. The only parameters that affect the strength of the case against you are how many crimes you've committed and whether you've been ratted out. Adding a broader "incrimination" mechanic could potentially change a lot of things (the first one that comes to mind is the police planting sleepers within the LCS, and wouldn't that be interesting?) but for now it'll just be the "scary factor"(?) that currently gets calculated when you go to court.

Privacy laws could have some effect perhaps. Phone taps/bugs at safehouses, heat dependent?

Ugh.

The legal system is confusing enough. I think just think the percentage rolls should just be more open and dialogue peices are inserted to justify that 22 count murder/ 44 acts of vandalism guy being released on unsupervised parole.

"The jury sympathizes with your cause!" Or "The judge deems <insert LCS member> too stupid to be implicated in these crimes" or "clearly a case of brainwashing, <LCS member> is free to go".

No need to recreate every possible outcome of a criminal trial. Just hinge the success/failure rate on the criminal in question, and adjust for other factors and give it a whirl with a random roll.
