Farms are'nt being farmed...

I have a farm plot, with plump helmets enabled for every season and lots of dwarves with field farming enabled, but its not happening and I don't know why. Common reasons for it fucking up anyway? :)

Note: the farm plot isn't a usual one, it is a deep unerground one (built on bedrock) that i soaked and then let dry

Are you out of plump helmet seeds or are they forbidden for whatever reason?

thanks i just noticed, I thought it would give me a notification if i had none. That sucks i'll need to buy some :p

The notification is usually "Farmer McUrist cancels Plant Plump Helmets. No Plump Helmet Spawn." ;)

It's usually in the announcements but flashes by faster than you can think. Heh.

But yeah, it happens to me all the time when I neglect that I'm set to cook plump helmets for 2 years because I have a billion of them. Suddenly I have 0. Can be a surprise!

It usually does say something like 'Urist cancels Plant Seed: no seeds', but it's easy to miss if there's a lot of other stuff going on.

Farm for a couple of seasons and you'll have so many seeds the game doesn't bother keeping track of them anymore, but just the same, to be safe be sure you're not cooking the plump helmets - brewing will salvage seeds but cooking destorys them. And of course make sure you don't set the spawn itself to be cooked on repeat and then forget about it.
