MAJOR ISSUE.

Magma does not set fire to grass. It has to be lit by fire. Try charcoal.

There is plenty of trees about, which should set the grass on fire.

I can also place charcoal stockpiles about randomly if absolutely needed, but I doubt it'll be a problem.

Trees can't burn and are not destroyed by magma. As far as I remember, magma will lite grass. If not, use the gobbo from last christmas or this adorable kitten as a match.
