Mayday's tileset porblems .
« on: February 04, 2010, 04:25:36 pm »

Well, as you probably have heard a lot of times, I'm new to dwarf fortress and wanted to play with tiles. Anyway, I downloaded the vainilla version of DF and run perfectly, however when i downloaded mayday's package, the normal df executable icon didnt show up, just a blank window (im on windows xp btw) and when i run it, nothing happened, i tied a lot of times but nothing happens.

Any one got an idea? thanks

Did you try it with 40d16? Because it uses PNG instead of BMP and won't work with 40d.

A version of DF. 40d17 is out soon (sooner than the next release)

No, the same happens...well I'll guess I'll search for different tilesets or play the ASCII one (btw, i don't have any problems with ASCII so it's ok).

Thanks anyway

Why yes there is. Copy the contents of the data/art folder and raw/graphics and raw/objects from the Mayday install to your vanilla install then go into the data/init/init.txt in your vanilla install and set it up to use the tileset and graphics properly. What you are going to do is change the line [GRAPHICS:NO] to YES then [GRAPHICS_FONT:<wahtever it says here>] to the font Mayday uses (you may want to look at the init.txt from Mayday to find out exactly what to change it to) for windowed or fullscreen depending on what you use. If I wasn't clear enough just let me knwo and I'll try to clarify a bit.

The problem with this tileset is the screen size required.
