So, I just had a thought:

What if I made an adventurer, walked over to the perfect fort location, and then died. And then did it over and over again.

Spawning as an adventurer gives you a free set of armor, free weapon, and there's no reason you couldn't go ahead and grab some other things as well. (Maybe loot an older fort?)

Then when you embark as a proper fort, your starting seven would arrive to a pile of dead adventurers and their stuff.

Afaik, the corpse and equipment won't be saved in current version. Except if it's in an already existing site, like cave, settlement or ruins. Next version, though, it's going to be feasible.
