Scaffolding
« on: April 08, 2007, 01:37:00 am »

I *know* that the z-axis isn't here yet, but I figured we'd get this started right now.

Scaffolding should be something that dwarves can use to climb up, down, or basically move any direction in 3D space. This would be used to dig out ceilings, or smooth out high walls. Scaffolds ought to take a bit of wood, not sure how much. The wood should also be redeemable once the project is finished.

I'm thinking that scaffolding should be required to work on bridges. It doesn't make much sense to me how you can just build a bridge across the chasm without any way of reaching across.

Scaffolds would also be flammable and easily destructable, so there would be very little reason to use one in lieu of a bridge.
