Strange "Catch Live Fish" job behavior
« on: January 26, 2010, 11:32:44 pm »

On a whim, I had some animal traps make and set a single "Catch Live Fish" job at the fishery. A month later, I see that my fisherdwarf still hasn't done it. I zoom to him from the units menu and find that he is standing in the underground animal stockpile with the tamed roaches and rats, holding an empty *towercap animal trap*, and not actually getting any live fish caught.

Any idea what's up?

You must define a Fishing activity zone in order for a "Capture Live Fish" job to actually do anything useful.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Once I defined an activity zone, it starting working well enough. Still weird and probably unintended, but thank you!

The job should probably cancel if there's no valid zone, just like Collect Sand.
