Now this is a suggestion for something added to pressure plates...
Sort of like the one time use pressure plates...

As you know one time pressure plates deconstruct when used.
What ild like is an option to have a pressure plate, when actiaved, to be set to the "off" position.
Meaning it cant be actiavated again till its reset back to the "on" position.
This doesnt mean that a dwarf has to run out and turn the pressure plates back on, no no (waste of time and pretty dangerous...).
But instead, be able to be reset by other things like a lever or another pressure plate thats connected to the "off pressure plate" ( This suggestion could also be used for levers...)

This could be used to create one way paths (although more advanced ai would be needed to work for the e.g. below to work properly)

Basically.
a dwarf runs along and steps onto the pressure plate on the left side (the pressure plates on the right side are already on the "off" position), which does three things, makes the bridge fall down and make a path available and also turns the pressure plates on the right side to the "on" position, as well as turning the other left side pressure plates to the "off" position

the dwarf then runs over the bridge and steps on the right side pressure plates turning the other pressure plates on the right side to the "off" position, retracting the bridge and turning the pressure plates on the left side back to the "on" position.
