I tried opening it with Fullscreen this time. Everything worked, and the font was perfect!! w00t! Thanks a lot for the great suggestions!

Now the thing to worry about: What was the error that happened after creating a new world?

I never thought of looking at the error log  :D :D :D
so here it is:
Quote
loop path fail: <same square> dwarf,Store Item in Stockpile,120,179,15 -> 119,179,15: Id #12297:Path Goal Seek Item for Storage:Station Mill Building at 105,165,14

Now wait, why 'store item in stockpile'? I havent even played this game since last summer, and I didn't keep the game file from back then! (Im not even advanced enough to know how to use a mill correctly :D So ive never even used a mill before)

That's... weird.  Glad that worked though.

That errorlog probably came with the Mayday pack, i.e. it happened while Mike Mayday was testing or something.

Here's the word from Baughn, the guy who's been working on 40d#:

There's a limit on how large textures your card will accept; typically 1024x1024, 2048x2048 or 4096x4096.

40d creates one texture per tile, then switches between them once per tile. This is very inefficient. 40d16 creates a single large texture for all tiles, but this means there are limits on tile size.

But frankly, your tileset is not what I'd call sane. Why do you want it that large?
