DF does have a resizeable window.  You are running the current d# series, right?
I should be running the latest version, I only downloaded it a week ago. If there is a way to resize the window, what is it? I'm guessing some hotkey somewhere, as you can't simply click and drag the corner like any other window application.

Yes. Clearly a bug that ought to be fixed in the future, but exploit it in the meantime.

You have two options:
- Get 40d16.
- If you're insisting on sticking with straight 40d for some reason, go to ~\data\init and change the screen resolution.

Your supection is right, it was done in GIMP
