The hammerman strikes the swordsman in the head with his +iron maul+

The swordsman's brain is mangled

The swordsman's head is broken

It explodes into gore

The swordsman looses hold of...  a crapload of swordsmanie items.

The human swordsman has been struck down

But then again, with the swordsman's head denting in like that, and the fact you only see it once in the playthrough, it's super effective.

A real dwarven hammerer would have that thing in one hand, with a buckler, a shield and a baby in the other.  And the baby would be wrestling a second swordsman.
