Baiting cage traps
« on: January 25, 2010, 06:07:34 am »

Basically, the ability to put a piece of food on a cage trap the same way you bait vermin traps. Wild animals will approach the cage trap upon seeing it and hence get captured. As bait, meat will attract carnivores while plants will attract herbivores.

This is meant to help with the live capture of animals. For the sake of making gameplay challenging, some animals, like giant cave spiders, will only eat live food and hence cannot be lured and caught via this method.

Cat:"THIEF! Protect the hoard from the skulking filth!"
The resulting party killed 20 dwarves, crippled 2 more and the remaining 9 managed to get along and have a nice party.

You can put a live cow in the trap.

Why use a cow where you can use an elf?

Maybe even one of those crafty goat-lowerers like in Jurassic Park.

Of course, this would be Arachnid Park and 50x scarier.

Can't you already do this with animal traps?

theyre talking about cage traps not animal traps...

but you could simply just do this...

Code: [Select]

C= CAGE TRAP
p = puppy
r = restraint.

Unfortunately, this only seems to work for giant cave spiders. Wolves, cougars and tigers all run away at the sight of a dwarf or pet.
