Popping out of the underground to commit mass murders? Quite Dwarfy indeed. Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Be Kind Reward) seems to be at the works behind those. Title project "Merde" literaly means shit, but in this case it probably translate better as "crap" or "huge mess".

Now I'll have to build a hermit fort inside a human town with a one-tile stairway entrance covered by an -iron hatch cover-.  Thanks.

Actually this is going to be a movie with a quite narrow meaning, tightly related to Japan. Either I will like it or hate it. We'll see.

If we cross DF and real-world history, and considering dwarves are from around 13th century according to their technological limitations (if i remember right), you could totally have dwarves digging a tunnel under Japan Sea and invading autarcic medieval japan! And it has plenty of volcanos!
