Standalone Mods
« on: December 22, 2009, 05:44:23 pm »

I haven't seen too many of these around..
I'm looking for mods that don't modify vanilla content at all but rather just add.
I'm trying to pack the game full with as much as possible (a la the Mega Mix), but I can't be bothered with merging and differencing all the modified vanilla content in Dig Deeper, Relentless Assault, etc.

An example of this would be Umiman's shape descriptors.  Those can be packaged into their own txt and added to any copy of the game provided said copy doesn't already have any shapes sharing an internal name with a new one.

My mods are made to not modify any of the base game files, available from sig.

All my mods do that - LEGO and Clowns (not the HFS type, though it does add to that).

But I'm not quite happy with the LEGO mod, as the current version allows it to exist.

Modbase used to fix these issues. It still can - my modpack is proof - but it's grown obsolete and broken. It still works as far as raws are concerned, but don't try messing with the init or speech or graphics with it - they don't work anymore, or may break the game. I guess I'll repack the thing and stick it on DFFD for everyone to use.

Glass Mod is standalone.

It has an error, though, which I noted in the thread.

I haven't actually played with it.  Since I have a copy, and it is standalone, I am passing it on to you.   :)

I've been working on a mod, which is entirely standalone. I'm not content with it, and will probably release it after the next version comes out. I have much more to add, anyways.
