Custom laws
« on: January 20, 2008, 06:47:00 pm »

The player should be allowed to make custom laws.  They would be like this: "If a dwarf does <CONDITION>, then <PUNISHMENT>".  The conditions should be chosen out of a list of possible conditions.  Same for the punishments.  Certain nobles might make laws from time to time.

I don't really think this will work.

It's a bit... useless as it is. I can't really see this doing anything to help or hurt the game. nope. its a big meh.

Nobles making laws for the dwarves that are under their control would make sense though.

The various [weapon] nobles would obviously be a bit pissy-faced if dwarves have multiple weapon skills, or certain weapons arn't produced or used enough in a game year; kind of like how the elven diplomat limits you to X trees cut per year, the dwarven nobles could make similar laws that ask that you produce a certain number of their underlings' products per year.

I like it only because I could set the penalty for not producing noble mandated goods be light instead of harsh.

I like it as you could then butcher people who butcher kittens and that would be just the start of their chain of unfortunate events  :)
