So I would really like to make some custom npcs in Elona using the mayday sprites and the spirit of Dwarf Fortress.

exactly 4 posts down.

Thing is I can't make heads or tails of the Custom NPC info and I'm a godawful sprite artist.

Anyone willing to lend a hand would be perfectly welcome.

You're not a cop, are you?
Wouldn't you be better off asking people on the Elona forum for this? I'm loath to outsource, but since your difficulties seem to be with the stuff on that end, it makes sense. You've already got access to Mayday's sprites, can't you just ask how to import them?

You DF guys are just more industrious. Besides wasn't sure how much interest there would be here so I figured the only way to know was to ask.

Shouldn't this be in Other Games?

Also, trying Elona's been on my roguelike "to do" list for quite some time (ranked somewhere below "continue to RAEG at UnReal World being crippleware" ).  I think I'll finally give it a try.

Tried Elona after you mentioned it here.

For an 'easy' Roguelike, it's surprisingly tough. I sure had less silly deaths with ToME.

Please allow me to laugh gleefully at this statement.

 But yeah, when it comes to modding Dwarf Fortress we can help you out. Want to stick Elona stuff in DF? We can do that. However, this is editing a seperate game with graphics not in vanilla DF. As such it belongs in Other Games.

 Not that I doubt we have people who are knowledgeable on custom NPC's around here for Elona, but it's a question on the proper section.
