Dwarfs wont build farm plots or butchers shop

How do i make one of my dwarves build these... they build everything else they just wont build these two.. I have wood.

Do you have a dwarf with the necessary labor(s) enabled?

Farm plots require "Farming (Fields)", and butcher's shops require "Butchering".

You can visit any dwarf suing the V menu than press P and then press L

Enable farming and enable butchering.

Also you need soil to build farms (or muddied rock floor)

From the description of the event, I think that your copy of Dwarf Fortress was on drugs when this happened. That's surely the only logical explanation for a human werewolf with deadly farts dying from it's own excrement after slaughtering some goblins comrades.

When you're new to farming, the best thing to do with regards to it is to find an embark location that has a layer or two colored in brown; this means the top few z-layers in game will be farmable without irrigation (which is somewhat of a pain).
