Victims break free prior to being town down execution tower.
« on: November 22, 2009, 11:50:17 pm »

I spent a good amount of time today building an execution tower. Im quite proud of it. But my problem is that when dwarves take the victims out of their cages to be thrown off, the victims escape. Take not that i have the cages right beside the designated pit. Is there a remedy for this? Does the individual dwarf that releases him to be killed have an affect on this?

What are you trying to pit?

Goblin snatchers will escape when you attempt to move them outside of their cages.
Wild animals will frighten the dwarf assigned to handle them, causing said dwarf to cancel the job and leave the animal loose.
Sometimes, but not reliably, a dwarf may have the nerve to run back up, re-grab the escapee, and finish the job.
Invaders from ambushes and sieges don't cause any trouble.
