This is the situation where that dude is conscripted into the Fortress/Royal guards.

Maybe if I didn't need every available hand to fend off the damn sieges. Someone, or rather, a FEW someones, failed to build an effective military, and I just got a bowgoblin siege.

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.

You could station him in a narrow hallway. He's not incredibly useful, so he could be disposable anyways. At the very least he'll be an AWS in the event of an ambush.

I'm pretty sure the dwarf will still head to any place you station him from the x menu like normal, so if you put your blind champion and his squad buddies on an interception course with a mob of invaders the blind champion should bump into one and work his magic without any issue.

I'd keep him armed with a melee weapon though. Just treat him like any other soldier.

Hey, the guy has multiple injuries and NO EYES, with no ongoing pain. I'm not abusing him. Lesser dwarves are in bed, screaming and wailing and crying in pain due to a broken arm. He's just getting on with things.

It's really too bad you can't un-draft champions. I've always wanted to have a butcher who was blind and mentally unstable.

Somehow, it totally makes sense to me that a martial trance would cancel the blindness.  Pit him in the arena and watch him bust out his force powers.

With a sword, of course.  Like Rowanas said, you can't pass up the chance to have a blind master swordsdwarf in your world.
