They really do different things. Shotguns do much more damage against large targets, like trolls and berserkers, and are reasonable at hitting groups of enemies and taking out those annoying as hell chickens that are just strong enough to take 2 bowgun hits. The autoshotgun is a beast, probably the best anti armor and anti air, and very good against everything else. By day 150, you pretty much can't miss, and the autoshotgun fires so fast and in such an area that you can pretty much hit half the screen at once. Haven't really gotten a good rapid bowgun run though, so I can't really compare the two.

Bowguns are great vs big stuff like catapults and tanks due to multi-hit.

Agreed on autoshotgun, it is uber...

The hunting rifle has a special place for me.... it goes something like: Headshot, click, headshot, click, headshot... and so on...
The pistol could do the same, but its reload annoys me more then how the hunting rifle reload works.  Albeit, it gets hectic later on and becomes less viable an option... 


My biggest fail in this game is not upgrading my weapons enough to keep up with the times.  Got to 36 and I find myself and allies not dishing out enough damage....

And... you can get perfect games from 1-10 easily enough if the RNG god looks down upon you favorably... and you and your allies are skilled enough...

If reloads are the problem, snag a revolver.

The only problem I've had so far with the rapid bowgun are those knight guys who are armored but small. Does pretty well against everything else, but 5 damage a shot isn't cutting it against them.

I would say impact mod. That plus penetration from a skill and you can as least push them back allowing more hits.
