Your best/most fitting squad name
« on: October 30, 2009, 09:11:14 am »

Ever had a squad who's name fit it's history perfectly? My current favorite is The Geared Powers, multi-legendary hammerdwarves armed completely in deep steel (177% armor and weapon mod from dig deeper). The Long Merchants were an interesting group as well who were unintentionally the guard usually deployed to protect caravans. One of them battered a goblin across the map with a hammer modded to do 1 damage. What's your best squad name?

The Balls of Steel - a starting dwarf with Prof Axedwarf/Prof Wrestler.  Entertainingly, he rarely wore armor in combat since I didn't have any until year 4.  After his death he was entombed in my megaproject, a cathedral, as the patron saint of daring.

The Barricaded Persuaders - they sit behind my fortifications, above the 3 wide path over magma into my fort. When goblins come along, the Barricaded Persuaders persuade them not to stick around.

I think they were called the stubborn walls or something along those lines

it was good though, because a full squad of 4 dwarves, 2 with hammers, 2 with axes, all in master-work admantine was god-damn unmovable.

my champion is now holding his artifact crossbow by his upper left leg and still shooting with is just fine despite having no hands.
What? He's firing from the hip.

And I bet in his entire military career, his lower body never took damage.

The Yawning Flags. The commander had the amazing ability to be sleeping/eating/drinking whenever I needed the squad to get somewhere immediately.
