I love WoG, just so short.... If you want to lengthen the fun, try user made content or make your own!

Maybe we will see some inspired Bay12 WoG levels?

Grr, I can't even spot the third billboard. My tower-fu is weak.

At least I can take pride in having beaten all the standard levels!

2D Boy released detailed figures on the results of the sale.  Rock Paper Shotgun did some analysis of the sale results that I found fascinating.

Why would having a choose-your-own-price sale on their own site increase sales on the (full-price) Steam service?  I do not get it.

Increasing sales on the Wii, I kind of get, because it's a different platform.  But I don't think there were many Wii customers who didn't learn of the sale via their computer, and thus could have bought the game for their computer instead of the WIi.

10 percent of purchasers were pirates who now wanted to pay for the game.

(That doesn't mean that 10 percent of the pirates chose to become legit customers.  I'd be much more interested in that percentage.  But there's no real way to figure it out.)

Quoted from their blog post:
Quote
“For all purchases of around 30 cents and under, we actually saw no money, PayPal took it all, but they probably ended up losing money on most of those transactions ($0.01) as well, they’re not the bad guy.”

Hah, just as I predicted. Setting it at a quarter of the price increases sales tenfold. $20 is a high price for such a simple game.. I think people would be happy to pay $6 or $7.

The sale got extended to the 25th after the success of the first week ($100,000 in a week is a lot of money for a game made by 4 people)

The files are DRM-free so you could easily buy a copy for a friend and just send them the installer.

You bastard.

4 people? I think they are only 2. Which makes the rake-in even more significant.

The stats confirm two things for me. First, prices at round numbers are preferred. It's just easier for people to keep track of.
Second, the moneymaking bracket seems to be 5$, which is what I thought was the "correct" price for a game of this scope, and is what I'm about to buy it for right now.

For easy reference, here's the histogram of how much people paid:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I find it interesting that 4 people paid $50.

Wow, there's an interesting market strategy.

I played the demo almost non-stop untill I beat everything and got all the goals. If anyone is feeling generous i'd like to request a copy. I unfortunately have no e-dollars nor any way to get them  :(.
