While we're on the topic of rock and heavy metal, lets go back to some of the music that helped influence it, da blues:

Howlin' Wolf

Muddy Waters

John Lee Hooker

I've been on a blues kick recently, for some reason.

I don't think you need a reason for a blues kick?!

I tried to listen to some Howlin' Wolf, never got that far. I will try the others, thanks for the leads.

I had room on my memory stick to bring in three albums to work, the chosen three were:

Tom Waits: Blue Valentine
Grinderman: Grinderman
Miles Davis: Kind of Blue

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds: No More Shall We Part narrowly missed out, as it is too gut wrenchingly awesome to listen to casually. After listening to it you feel like you have just woken up after a two week divorce-induced hangover in The Priory.

We once got the chance to play three songs at school.
I chose:
Tom Waits: Underground
Those Poor Bastards: They Don't Make Folks Like They Used To
Opeth: Hex Omega

Needless to say, I rawk.
