Squad doing nothing
« on: October 06, 2009, 06:11:39 pm »

Hello! I'm a noob. I have about 25 dwarfs, 5 in a squad. I got ambushed by goblins, and they are taking a toll on my dwarves who are out and about. I activated my squad, and they went out once, and then *I think* the came back and rested and ate.

Action is tough to follow, because I'm on a mountain and most travel is along the z-axis. I don't know where the goblins are or where most of my dwarves are.

Anywho, how do I get my squad to just go out and attack the goblins?

Squads of more than one dwarf cause trouble because all dwarves in the squad will follow the leader. So, if the leader abandons the battlefield, all dwarves in the squad will follow him.

To solve this, simply set each dwarf as his own squad and send them out to mine up that goblinite.

squads will almost always follow their squad leader so the best way is to get each dorf in a separate squad and tell them to move separately... you may not get all of them to go but at least they wont follow their leader to the other side of the map to claim a pig tail sock
