Has anyone else ever had a waterfall that looks like it's upside-down?  The animation is apparently the same for a waterfall no matter what direction the river that leads to it comes from.  I have a waterfall that looks like it falls north to south...as if it were falling from the ground to the north into the river to the south.  Not that important, but it's just...wrong.

I'm suspecting the effect is simply that the water is falling down the screen (i.e., where it appears to be coming out of the ground, that is actually meant to be "up" above where it is landing in the river, not literally coming out of the ground around where you see it).

Makes sense to me.

There are two types of waterfalls on the cave river.

One is falling down into the cave river, and generates the nice mist that makes dwarves happy.

The second is falling down from the cave river, into a chasm. There can be chasm squares ('#') next to these waterfalls, and they do not generate mist and can suck dwarves down during flooding.

Waterfall mist makes dwarfs happy? Does that mean that when we have the Z-axis we can make dwarfs happy by creating waterfalls?

Why not?

Humans do.

I live in a city with a 13 mile long artificial creek.

Would that be in California?  And it's Concrete River?

Yeah.  Real pleasing (I lived next to it for years).

I once lived next yo a river with a history of having... Errr toilets drain into it.

Mind you it might be an idea to read up on the subterranian rivers of London for some good DF ideas on water.

This will become a non-issue in the next release now that how water is handled is being changed.
