Two separate tilesets
« on: October 19, 2009, 08:27:57 pm »

I don't know if this has been covered in some way before, and if so then lock this up fast.
(Also If that's the case I'm sorry, but it's 03:21 Am here and I'm reaaaaaaally tired. :-\ )
yeah kinda like the thread name says: what if dwarf fortress utilized two different images as tilesets.?
It would be a lot easier for making graphics sets and such, since if you drew the font for the writing on one tileset, and every creature/object/building etc. from another.
(don't think much would have to be changed either regarding code)
So instead of having, for example, the commas look dirty in Mayday's graphics pack, the actual "text comma" would look good, not dirty..dirty.
Just at though.
What do you think would be better ?

That's been mentioned and discussed quite a few times already. General consensus is that yes, it would be nice to seperate graphics from font.

Ok, thanks. That was basically what I wondered about so I'll lock this thread.  ;)
(Didn't find anything with search so that's why I made this.....probably since I was pretty messed up from sleep deprivation *embarrasing*)
