"Unfortunate Accident" Devices

Nobles, often due to the cruel Machinations of the commoners, are quite prone to "Unfortunate Accidents." So, lets see your devices of "Accidental" dwarf destruction. Whether its a simple Atom Smasher configuration or a giant statue of a Dwarf that Bridgeapults Nobles out its arse.

Post your design here. The more detail the better.

The one I personally use the most is what I call the Dwarf Firing Squad. It consists of a 1x1 locked room with a lever. On one side is a fortification with a ballista behind it. Simply assign the noble to work the lever, set it to be pulled on Repeat. Lock the door, and set the ballista to fire at will.

Not very original, but very efficient. Costing only one log to put an end to any annoying mandates.

There was another thread similar to this a few weeks ago, over here.

Dig a tunnel to a place far away from your fortress entrance. Build a very nice noble-class room in that place, show the noble to his new room and seal the tunnel. Sooner or later, the noble will spring an ambush on his way to/from the room, and die horribly.

This is my latest design:

The bridge access is walled off, the door or the bridge itself is the only way in / out, due to the 100 frame delay between a lever being pulled and the bridges pulling in, the noble usually already is on his way home when the ground suddenly disappears. Can be used multiple times without replacing any parts.

I'm still a new player, so my designs are understandably primitive!

Build a tower (a stack of stairs works fine). Build a bridge at the top of the tower. Designate a wall to be built on the other side of the bridge. Use Dwarf Manager to turn masonry off for every dwarf but the mayor.

Doesn't work with higher nobles, though.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

They want tombs so badly? I GIVE them tombs. Of course, for safety purposes, these tombs must have very heavy iron or steel doors controlled by a lever. Obviously there can only be -1- level, that only the Noble who's tomb it is may use. Otherwise, what would be the point?

now. All these tombs are built with a glass ceiling held up by a support. Above is a magnificent view of an aquarium, a zoo, the goblin's so recently captured, a bunch of rocks, or maybe even, if the noble is ESPECIALLY lucky. Magma.

Also, there's an additional lever connected to the doors, just in case they... you know... jam...

A "shower" stall

It's a 1x2 closet with a floor grate and a lever.  1 level down there's a hatch cover in the drain.  It's linked to a different lever.  Water is continuously coming in from above and flowing through.  The lever in the shower stall isn't connected to anything and is only used to get the victim in there.  If the door is locked and the drain stopped up the victim drowns.  If not the victim just gets washed. 

It requires a second dwarf to pull the floor hatch lever, but it's reusable and preserves items.  I think next I'll do Overspeculated's bridge trap over a long drop so I can make dwarves splatter.

OH! You know what else is good? That in it's spare time it can be used to train swimming skill :D

Also. have the switch inside close a flood gate that locks the shower stall.

I always have used a water channel linked to a resevoir to repetedly beat my dwarves against their room door, bonus points for striking him down instead of drowning

I use it more for my permanantly crippled vets than nobles, I is da evil  ;D

Dude, that is sick.  And awesome.

Do you drain it repeatedly or what?  How do you get them to hit the door?

The force of the water shoves them into the door hard enough to injure them, I admit it is hard to throw all the switches fast enough to keep him from drowning, especially when your designated Thrower-of-switches decides to take a break or have some lunch
