I'm really sorry for my crappy logs and everything, I had to sorta skimp most of it because I got into some medical problems, I didnt want to miss another turn.

Sorry about the continuing wait.  FPS is making this really hard to play.

It's the moat, I think.  Making me completely unable to play this (freezing constantly, crashing, going excessively slowly).  I'm skipping my turn due to technical issues.

So uh, How was the moat filled. Can we get rid of the water in it?

Uh, that would be me.  I dug the moat and it filled itself.  Somehow.

I think I hit an aquifer somewhere along the moat.

That said, the moat shouldn't matter to FPS since it should be permanently full.

Well in my last fortress I was fiddling with some aquifer and its been my experience that even if the thing in question is full, if its using a aquifer to do it, its a hit to the FPS. I think it may be because of every breached square trying to generate water at the same time.

We should also check if we some how breached too far? Cause there's multiple aquifer layers here, so if one is draining into the one below, that'll also do unfunny things to our FPS.

To the dorf pulling the lever, the lever is just a lever. The magma pouring out of the mountainside is just a coincidence. To the dorf designing a pump stack from the magma sea, it is just that: a pump stack. No specific reason for it. It will never do anything.
