Joshua's Amateur Writing and Miscellany Repository and Spectacle
« on: September 09, 2009, 03:01:08 am »

I'm pretty sure I promised I'd share my works with you all a long time ago, and never got around to doing it, so I'll use this thread as a means to do so.

The story is interrupted about halfway through in this part as I briefly talk about Shining Force 2.

Please take note that I'm only marginally proud of this work.

To anyone that had the patience to read through all that: I'm sorry.

I have some more, but this is all I can bear to show. Everything else is too horrible.

Horrible, as in horrible quality, not horrible content.

I suppose I'll use this thread to try to continue writing, and try to hone my skills, if only a little.

You can't read it Toony, no one can, it is far too long.

I suppose I'll write something I've been thinking of lately though. You know how I like Mecha?

So you didn't finish the challenge run?  Lame.

You won? :O

And I am stuck in the normal gameplay.

My head unto you, ChaoticAwesome.

Yeah, when it got to the point where I needed to use the item world to get strong enough to beat the bosses (as grinding on the storyline stages would be crazy hard), much frustration ensued due to the male cleric's low jump stat, and the RNG's evil tendency to place the exit someplace unreachably high, forcing me to continue from my last save over and over and over. This reduced me to tears on one occasion when I finally got one piece of equipment that I've been striving to get for hours, and then I couldn't keep it because the exit to the next stage was unreachable, and I didn't have a gency.

I still have the save file on one of my memory cards, I could probably start him back up and attempt the optional bosses if I wanted. The optional bosses though are MANY orders of magnitude more difficult than the final storyline boss. Cleric Snake was respectably tough where I left him, but I'd have to do MUCH more item worlding to get him strong enough to take on the optional bosses. It's not impossible though.

Is anyone reading these? I'm surprised noone's pointed out the super obvious homage yet. I'll do this without the italics, see if it looks better.

Geeze, small update. To be continued.

I'm really trying to become a better writer, in both quality and consistency.
