Soldiers carrying Booze

Well since all soldiers can only carry a water skin with water in it why couldn’t we make cans?
With the cans the soldier could take beer,wine,rum etc. with them

What would the cans require?
- A bar of any metal
- a New workshop ( will explain later)
- Some booze
- New job
Why can’t the can be made of these items?
-Wood because it isn’t a reliable thing you cannot reuse it after use
-Stone Just too heavy to carry 3 to 5 stone cans
-Cloth the booze will go through it
-Leather the Water skins are already made of that

How do you get the cans?
Well you first make a metal bar, then you carry it to the new workshop, You take some booze and carry it also to the new workshop. Then the dwarf with the new job will go there and put the booze into the can


And here you have a booze can which your soldiers can carry around.

The new Workshop would be just like all the other workshops. It just needs one unit of any material to be made off. The name will be maybe the “Can Workshop”

The new Job will be just like all other jobs. The dwarf with this job “(Dunno the name yet)” will put beer into the cans.

Another handy thing that could be implemented

After the soldier drank the booze out of the cans, they could then go to the Metal bars storage and put the can there. It will be Re melted or reused if needed. If it isn’t remelted the Specific job will take the can and use it again.

To make the booze more worth to trade you could use Leather or cloth to wrap it around the can with some booze mark on it like

-Urist McBrewer’s Sunshine

There will be no happy thoughts

And if dwarf goes fey or secretive they can make an artifact beer can!
The Artifact beer can Will give happy thought just like by any other Non-weapon Artifact

Soldiers will be able to carry booze in waterskins next version.

They already exist, I export them En Masse to the dwarves when I strike gold, 3 for 1 bar.

Flasks are currently metal vials. Metal waterskins should be called canteens.

Soldiers relly shouldnt be able to carry booze. Booze leads to drunkeness which leads to lack of discipline.

Dwarves get drunk from drinking water and sober up as they drink booze.

Indeed. I always set my dwarves to carry no food or drink because they would end up only drinking water, and I figure that it's better if they just nip off for a quick drink every now and then.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.
