The sound clip is something I could easily reproduce by putting a microphone behind some paper and putting it in my school's cafeteria at lunch. It would be scary, if it wasn't so absurd. The Snopes article, as mentioned before, does do a really good job of disproving this myth.

Still pretty neat.

Now I know what we need in dwarf fortress: Natural gas. Imagine building a room with a trade depot, filling it with natural gas, and then igniting it when the elves came.

Wow... You would think that with modern pumping techniques we would be able to get it done... Just proves that not everything is better in the 'future' and some 'old tech' can best even modern man.
