A dark day?  That would be a glorious day!, those news types and their doom and gloom spin on everything.  The liar of ages will be the first to receive the hammerer's justice.   For Armok!  For the One Toad! Glory to  the Hypnotoad Toady One!

10 years from now I'm hoping Toady and Threetoe make enough off of donations to retire permanently. Just settling down to make whatever games they want.  I sure as hell know that If I won a big lottery jackpot I would do everything I can to make sure The bros are as set for life as I am.  My dream home is basically a studio apartment, so I should be able to afford it. ...Now I just need to go out and buy a lottery ticket from time to time.

Of course here's hoping the pathing would work for flying and aquatic creatures too...

For another take on the question, I genned a world with 2020 years of history.

The elves are all dead. The dwarven civilization is 99% elven (you still get dwarf migrants though..). The goblins are about 30% human it seems. Humans are dominant in the world. Twelve megabeasts remain.

That... seems quite right. By 2020, most men shall become very feminine (dwarfs being composed of elves).

On a whim I went to the maximum world age (10,000 years) on world gen with a new seed.

Elves rule this world, and their civilization is mostly pure elf. Dwarves live in the south mostly, in a small series of mountain ranges, and their civ has a LOT of humans in it as well.

Human civ has... goblins in it? I don't know how that happened, but there are goblins.

Goblin civ is all goblin, with no remaining demon leaders that I can see. There are no megabeasts.
