Posession/Fey Mood problem
« on: August 20, 2006, 07:52:00 pm »

Earlier, I had one of my metalsmiths go int oa Fey Mood.

He then walked outside, stood in the middle of my wood pile, and just stood there until he went insane. Is it possible to have the dwarves complain about the workshop they don't have when it doesn't exist, rather than just standing there?

I had the same thing happen with a jeweler who arrived in my young fort.  I kept him under guard of marksdwarves, but he didn't try to hurt anybody, just went insane quietly and died from thirst soon after.

I always make at least one of each workshop to prevent things like this from happening.

Are fey moods limited to crafting sort of tasks?  It'd be awesome if you could have a cook taken by a fey mood who claims a kitchen and mutters about milk and dog meat and eventually produces "Lestovrekstern," the greatest meal ever seen.

Or a farmer could claim a plot and grow a spectacular, edible botanical garden.

It would just be nice if you could view the 'possessed/fey' dwarf after awhile and see a note that says, 'seeking carpenter shop' or 'seeking lavaforge' or whatever it is you don't have that they need. Of course Toady could think up madness-induced mutterings that hint at the same thing but I could settle without that.
