OLMS ARE NOT FISH!!! RAEG!
It's an amphibian, but never goes on land. It always stays in the water. So...for the purposes of quick and easy definition, a fish.

Yes, but for the sake of common sense and biology, it's an amphibian. This isn't pedantry, they're separated for a reason.

But anyway, I'm not too familiar with Alzheimers's Disease so I took a quick look at the wikipedia article, and look at the picture they have:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:COMPARISONSLICE_HIGH.JPG

That's horrifying.

I'm not too keen on all the practical jokes everyone has in mind for your future Alzheimery self, but it really sounds like it'd just be depressing. Depressing like the end of Flowers for Algernon. Yeah, exactly like that.

The ending of Flowers for Algernon was one of the most depressing things I've ever read.

Depressing like the end of Flowers for Algernon.

It was really sad. I cried as I read that (I am but a sensitive man). But it was a really good story. The movie (Charly) was pretty good, too, but didn't carry quite the same effect because you couldn't see Charlie's grammatical errors.

Now I'm gonna be all sad as I go to sleep. You are a cruel, cruel person, Josh.

I thought knowledge of what happens to you when you have Alzheimer's is common sense. I know the fate of the Alzheimer's sufferer and heck, if I really do get it, it's not like I can do anything about it... so might as well find out some mind body answers when it happens.

No man... It would mean that as fucked up as you are... You still have a great sense of humour... I'd think it was a relief...

Tatoo your name in your left hand. And tatoo "To find out your name, check your left hand" on the right one.

No.  Tattoo "Check your left hand" on your right hand, and "Check your right hand" on your left hand.  Your lack of short-term memory will keep you at it for the rest of your life.

I read about a hospital which had benches for sufferers to sit on, and various other activities which they could do to make it feel, to them, like they were waiting for something and about to do something.  It was heartbreaking, but, in a way, made sense.
