Modded-in creatures supposedly injured
« on: September 11, 2009, 05:05:20 pm »

I've modded these into the game as part of an ongoing project.

Spoiler: creature data (click to show/hide)

(MOUTH_PINCERS is a clone of UPPERBODY_PINCERS, with obvious adjustments)

Spoiler: body data (click to show/hide)

Every time I encounter a pack, the game will display them all with a flashing red cross - the same effect displayed as when a creature is critically injured.
However, the 'pedes don't seem to care, and as far as I can see, operate flawlessly. However, this might have something to do with them having [NO_PAIN], and I somehow suspect that removing that tag would make them all fall over due to pain. Can someone check if I've missed anything vital, or done something illegal? It's pretty irritating.

They appear to have no lungs or throat.

Indeed, but the nobreathe tag should make that a moot point shouldn't it?

Try regenning your world.  If you mess with creatures' limbs without regenning, the game does the thing with the flashing cross, but they never pass out from pain.  Also, look at the existing creatures very carefully, and be sure that your body tags are in the correct order.  Swapping around the order screws stuff up royally (even with a regen), as I found out when trying to move hands to the top of the list, to make adventure grappling less annoying.

Tried regenning several times.
I've made changes to the body parts so that antennae are seperate from heads, maxilla seperate from the body entry, etc., and switched them to a more logical order but it doesn't appeared to have helped.

Edit: Hold on, their brains aren't working correctly. Gimmie a sec...
Edit: Bah, now all they do is push me, even if I add [NOTHOUGHT].
Edit: ALRIGHT. It's fixed. Was all due to them having body parts (maxilla) attached to the mouth.
