I say he should carve a ramp in to the rivers edge for easier access. also we need to dig down to get away from that awful sun at some point. Edit:also stone... hope there isn't an aquifer

also to help with thoughts, we should have him catch the rat with his hands and tame it. (I think all you need to tame vermin is petting cause they never bring food to vermin in game that I notice)

I say he should make a crown out of the plants growing near the river bank (I forget what they're called) and declare himself king.

does... does anyone else realize how much that mountainside smoke cloud looks like an elephant with beady little blue eyes?

Fear not the insane man. For who are you to say he does not percieve the true reality?

We can dig a tunnel underneath the river with our bare hands and some sticks for all I care, just leave it till tomorrow, our tired meter is getting pretty high and the day is getting late.

What we can do is collect some more specific types of wood from the forest:
*two Y branched branches: to lay our spitted fish on above the fire
*some branches to create an A-frame
*leafy branches (torn fresh from the tree) for covering our A frame. I don't like the sight of those clouds on the horizon.
*some pliable and sturdy vines or strips of bark to bind the stuff together with, so that it will look and hopefully function like a shelter.
Then follow innate dwarven construction logic (or raymearswiki) to build it.
But that is after securing and cleaning our food.

As the saying goes: "first (chug some) Food, then (chop some) Wood."
Similar to : "First some zees before the siege"
Both are jokes based on the way dwarves handle priorities. (Own bodilly needs >> everything else)

Dwarves are selfish little bastards, aren't they?

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

? J/K:

Why does the dwarf dance?
>He needs to pee, but there's a siege on.

How does a dwarf dance?
>Like he's been cut of at the knees.

How does a dwarf show his appreciation of your dwarfjokes?
>Tantrum / with an axe.

"Rock... the primal frontier. These are the excavations of the miner Daggerbreeches. Her terminal mission to excavate valuable ores, to seek out new veins and motherlodes, to dig deeper than any dwarf has dug before."

How many elfs does it take to pull a lever?
>Does not matter, the dwarf will pull it.

replies of that type are starting to annoy me...almost enough to make me look for an 'ignore user' feature.

  • Wade into the river to get better as swimming, but stay near the shore.
  • Make a fire in the firepit
  • Use the fire to dry off and cook the fish
  • Take a nap
What happened to the elf?

There was no tradingpost, so their caravan bypassed our site. I think. Or it has spied us and is getting his buddies to take revenge for the treebranch we made the spear from....

I thought (lore-wise) they only got upset when you cut the trees down. Using freely available deadwood should be the correct course of action according to them.

I say we learn how to gather wood respectfully from the elves, and then build *feather wood mechs* with it.
