How to say 'a levels' in french? RESOLVED
« on: August 27, 2009, 01:20:19 pm »

Yeah, i'm doing french homework. I put it in a translator and gibberish came out. And there British exams you do when your 16/17 and 17/18 (depends when in the year you were born). Thanks in advance.

I think the main problem is that the French don't take A-Levels and therefore don't have a word for them. I think the best you can do is to just put it in quotation marks to signify it's a different language. For example: je n'aime pas "A-levels"

You could probably find something else in french to describe the idea. But frankly, I'm not sure what you mean by 'A levels' in english...

According to french wikipedia, its le 'A-level' or unshortened 'Niveau Avancé'. Don't know why I didn't think of that before. Locking the thread
