19th Felsite, Centurions log.
With the blockhouse now built, and our immediate food issues resolved due to mass rabbit slaughter, we can now turn our attention to fortifying our camp a bit with a perimeter wall.
This won't be the full camp wall, just a small defensive wall with maybe a few small guard towers, but it'll do.
15th Hematite
Construction of the wall comes along well. We'll soon not have to worry about a band or orcs rushing us from the wilderness.
On a slightly more faniciful note, mermaids and mermen have been spotted off the coast. They aren't bothering us, so we won't bother them. Labs does though often stare at them, almost longingly. I hope he isn't going to at some point leap into the sea and try and catch one of them.
25th Hematite
Looking to our future, Dogar suggested we try and capture some of the rabbits to set up a breeding program, so we'll have a constant supply of fresh meat. Seeing as how he suggested it, I've ordered him to start working on the mechanisms of the traps. For some reason he didn't seem quite so enthusiastic suddenly.
We've also started putting the crafts that Phantom has been making into bins, to make it easier to trade them when merchant caravans come around. The poor dwarf has to wade through the crafts to get to his tools currently.
20th Malachite
I do hope that they won't have expected me to start on the docks yet, as I haven't got the expertise or the dwarf power to build anything more than a little jetty, and even that might collapse. I suppose I'll know soon enough if we start sighting any of our warships sailing up the coast.
In other news, Greta has put together a still and has started making us some of her apparently famous booze. Our stocks are beginning to run low, but I do hope she doesn't poison us.
27th Malachite
Greta has brewed as much drink as she can with the plants at hand, so now it falls to me to test the first batch.

1st Galena
Oh my aching head. I still have hangover, as do some of the other men. I've instructed Greta to water the drink down a bit, though she indicated she wasn't to happy about it. The only reason she agreed was because I threatened to throw her into the ocean if I ended up hung over for 4 days after drinking her brew again.
Guard tower on blockhouse nearly finished. Must lay down now.
12 Limestone
The wall is nearly done, and a second level added to the Blockhouse, with a small ammo stockpile and an office for me, so that I can finally do some book keeping and find out exactly how much of everything we have and not ave to ball park all our stocks.
We're also expecting a merchant caravan sometime soon. I do hope they remembered to tell them about us....
