Should i Name my Dwarfs? I'm starting a new World (small World) and am wondering if i should name my dwarfs or not, Considering I Do like to use English Names, I Ask this because it might look weird in Legends mode. as it has in the best

I haven't used legends mode, but give my dorfs nick names that indicate what job they do (Miner 1, Farmer/Herbalist, Animal Trainer/Thresher/Glassmaker, etc.). Not very role playish, though.

No idea what name changing does to legends, but I've done middle names as profession before and not seen any weirdness.

The nicknames can help combat confusion same-names showing up, and make it easier to find your fort's dorfs in legends (as opposed to random fuckstain who died a century ago #47 who also had the first name Domas with some weird sounding dorf name.) THere's also roleplaying, succession game, and the obvious "what does this dipshit do" benefits available as well.

Ultimately though, it doesn't matter (thus making it entirely your choice; I like to make up random names for mine personally,) since in legends the only real function there would be knowing what dwarves were yours  and what ones weren't.

Yes you definitely should, I always name all my dwarfs. It makes me attached to them, so it actually means something when a beloved dwarf dies.

I always name my dwarves. It helps me remember who does what, though unlike others I do not name them their professions. I give them actual names.
