Choosing "Human: Play Now!" or whatever should start you nearby your most recent fort, IIRC.

However, it will also create you with no items in your inventory - without a backpack, you can only pick up items into your empty hands (have a weapon and shield? sorry, can't pick up anything else). This, combined with you starting with no skills, makes "Play Now!" almost worse than useless.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Makes for a fun challenge, though! :3

Just make sure to leave behind a backpack and then start training throw.
And what Doomshifter said.

Anyways.

Ask any-one about Surroundings, and fairly often they'll bring up any abandoned forts. Just keep asking until they tell you what cardinal direction/how many days travel away. It'll even appear on the travel map.

You can also just travel there yourself, if you remember where it is.

I remembered where my old fort was and just travelled there via the medium of travel screen.
Then proceeded to get beaten to death by two ogres at the other end of the map. My Silver Shortsword was not enough!

(I actually had to go there as an elf because I got turned into Hammer Lord Wolf Chow halfway there as a human. How embarassing.)
