An end to Sieges?

I haven't suffered a siege in 2 years, nor any ambushes... I'm in my 19th year of fortress.
Do sieges simply stop at some point?

Maybe you killed the goblin ruler?

I've killed the few weapon lords of the local goblin civ and now all I have left are a bunch of high priests and the ruler on the civ list for them.

Yeah, taking out the local leaders and the king pretty much ends sieges unless you've got more than one goblin civ nearby.

Or you could start a war with the elves...

I've only 'contacted' one goblin civ, although I did have a different human civ besides the one that trades with me when I got one of their human POWs. I think.

I know I could do a savescum and check the legends, but I messed up the savescum (lost the fort rather than saving it) the last time I tried to do a savescum. I did ask and got a response, but I really don't want to mess up and lose this fortress.

Does that go the same for the Kobolds? They've stopped coming around as well.

I think that depends on your wealth. I've had the kobolds not show up for a while and then a few appear when an artifact gets made. Sometimes they will show up with a siege or ambush and try to sneak their way in.

If yoiur fortress wealth hasn't changed much, that could be it and if they don't appear again with an artifact creation, no idea what's going on there.

You could leave some expensive items out in the field so that kobolds can steal them.

That way, they start sending raids.
