Constructions(Anything made with b-C) can not be destroyed as of yet.

Channeling out the roof and making a floor over it works great, it will be light-inside, which actually stops the dwarves running out, and arrows can't get through the floors.

Besides that, just use the normal forbidding things on death, no dwarves outside..etc, that should work.

Edit: And goblins will not bring beak dogs or trolls unless their civilisation has access to them, and both beak dogs and trolls are very rarely spotted near goblins in most worlds, so unless you're really unlucky, you won't see them.

What kind of statues are your masons making, that you think they have "maximum exposure"?
(Full frontal ones, apparently.  With very short beards.)
