digging planner

I remember ages back i saw like a little program where you could plan out what designs you wanted to cut into the ground,  but i can't find it now, anyone know where i could get it?

dtil had a digger, I believe.

I never understood how this utility is useful. I mean Dtil has Embark Editor and Vein Helper and both of them are priceless, but the digging planner? Useless.

If you like to keep a simular or exactly the same fortress at every embark location then Quickfort is a very usefull program to designate dig zones for housing, diningrooms, buriallocations.

It is not a must, but if you are bored with manual designation especially with more complicated layouts it is perfect.

Looks like no one posted a link for you yet.

I am currently using quickfort, http://sun2design.com/quickfort/ , where you use excel to create a spreadsheet drawing of what you want to dig out.  I love it and have used it to plan a central shaft fortress, aka resident evil complex.

I highly recommend it
