I had a macaque attack early in my fortress.  Now my leader doesn't object to being drafted.

Heres what I figured out to make these monkeys more annoying...

AMBUSHPREDATOR - Now you won't see them coming at you...
EQUIPS - Should make them equip gear they pick up, not sure though...
FREQUENCY - Make this higher and they appear more then you would wish...
LIKES_FIGHTING - Should make them stay around longer when you attempt to drive them away...
FLEEQUICK - Just to make the above one less, well deadly, should make them flee when you start to kick a good percentage of them around...
NARROW - If they pick up any Gobbo gear this should make them able to equip it... I think...
MISCHIEVIOUS - Levers where they can reach easily might be a bad idea...
SLOW_LEARNER - Like the Tag can learn but supposedly at a slower pace. Imagine the Monkey that took down your champ one year got away then came back the next stronger/smarter then the last...

Tag not sure about...
TRIGGERABLE_GROUP - Not sure what this does, at first it I thought that it makes more spawn when you trigger them into attacking or something but not sure, anyone knows what it is, I see it on all the vermin...

For an extra thought...
UTTERANCES - If I am not mistaken, this means that they should be able to get names right.

Thanks for putting that up there. I probably won't use all of them but I might make the frequencies higher and add mischievious. I will definately add equips though.

Yikes, the Orcs have a nasty language.  Traditional foreplay would be right out for them; how would they ever "say my name" for one another?  No wonder Ocrs are always so bloodthirsty and violent, they're getting sub-par action.

If you make them narrow they will only use goblin and elf kit. If you want them to put on that artifact adamantine plate you have to remove narrow.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

This is a XXRhesus MacaqueXX. All craftsmanship is of highest quality. It is encircled with bands of (its own) rhesus macaque leather and menaces with spikes of (its own) rhesus macaque bone.

It's not quite the same, but somehow I just got a mental image of a chimpanzee galloping at someone on all fours in big shiny platemail and pummeling them. It's a very funny image.

I turned the frequency of them up a small but but changed their group size to 50. I had totally forgot about that before starting a map that had them in it. I embarked, looked at the local creatures and I get 5 pages of Rhesus Macaque. If I hadn't brought 20 war dogs for protection/delicious biscuits, I would be completely dead right now.

MODDING THAT NOW!!!

I already added in the macaques as a civ... as well as raccoons.

I removed all clothing, production, etc... from their civ, but they now are impossible to see until they run into a dorf/dog/kitten/carp...

its quite fun, as now they will infiltrate my base before they try and take anything.

I wonder if they will eventually siege...

Urist Austin, Axedwarf.  A dwarf barely alive.  Gentledwarves, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic dwarf. Urist Austin will be that dwarf. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.

If you increase their group size, you'll have the equivalent of a siege. I have mine about about 50 right now just so I don't get completely over run.
