I would advise setting their ignite point back to normal now, so they don't arrive on the map, explode into flames and ignite the grass.

I had a similar thing going on with deer. I cut down the tree that was blocking the deer from leaving and slaughtered them all. The resulting butchery overdose left me with so much leather it was unreal.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

Glad you got the situation under control.
I'd have suggested a controlled cave in from below? You'd have to make it large enough as to be able to dig the ramps to surface at a safe distance, but I suspect it'd get them. As a bonus, they'd be harvestable afterwards.

Although, precooked, and that birth are very awesome.
