So, I was bored and unable to build a fort interesting enough to hold my attention until this "Fun Stuff" I keep hearing about, I finally decided to build a death-trap fort for drowning my dwarves one by one. (Yes maybe I am a pixel-sadist)
Unfortunately, my drowning chamb- I mean bedrooms were flawed
I built a resevoir above the bedroom floor with a channel and floor hatch above each bedroom. I attached these floor hatches to individual levels all located in a lever room.
Showtime: I filled the resevoir and pulled the first lever.......nothing Fortunately I built a master-flood switch and flood the whole fortress (It was purposely built 1 level below a river, it flooded from the ground up)
Sorry for bothering any people who feel solely entitled to this forum, I am just frustrated
We're pretty good with new people here, don't worry
On the subject of "Fun Stuff", some may refer to Fun™, which usually means you modded cats to have a temperature of 3x the suns surface, got killed by goblins, flooded the world with magma, or any combination thereof.
Flooding your fort with water is also Fun™.
The other "Fun stuff", the one you were propably waiting for, is called HFS, or Hidden Fun Stuff.
For your own sake
please don't look this up, as experiencing it for the first time is vital for truly enjoying Dwarf Fortress.
HFS will be unlockable in the mountain regions, more specifically one per mountain tile in the region view upon embark, the screen in the middle.
If you understand what I'm trying to say :p
I get the feeling you're new though, yes? In that case, welcome aboard
