Dwarf ambushes

I have recieved an ambush of 5 dwarfs and some goblins. I'm sure they got those dwarfs from child snatching but how did they get it from me? None of my children have gotten stolen yet. Does it generate child snatching events during the world generation? If so, that's awesome.

That and you could go to a Goblin Tower and find the ones they kidnapped and bring them with you.
